We’ve partnered with DuPont to develop the next generation of a stronger, lighter soft armor system. We chose to work with Dupont Kevlar® fibers in our CaliberX™ Soft Armor because DuPont constantly upgrades and improves Kevlar®. We have fully maximized the material’s potential and made it more comfortable and lighter for the wearer. CaliberX™ Soft Armor has 10% less weight and has 15% less back face deformation than other commercially available soft armor systems. This directly translates into less blunt force trauma to vest wearers. While 10% might not sound like much, we know that when you have all the extra gear to wear you are grateful for a lighter vest.
CaliberX™ achieves protection against high performance hand guns such as the .44 Magnum, .357 Sig, and the .9 mm using less material. CaliberX™ Soft Armor fibers absorb the energy of the bullet along the molecules of each fiber, catching it in a multi-layer web of unidirectional fabric. The fibers absorb and disperse the energy of the impact to underlying fibers in the insert that help reduce the amount of transferred energy that causes the back-face deformation which can cause blunt trauma. The final inner layers of material are able to disperse the energy and helps diminish any trauma.

Our Rimelig option is made of p-Aramid Fibers and is available at both Level II and Level IIIA protection levels, which both provide multi-hit protection. The Rimelig is the most budget option of the three, making it a solid entry-level soft armor option, while still staying true to the goal of soft armor: Reliable lightweight protection, at just 0.45” thick and weighing 1.24 pounds.
The next level up is the Slim, which is made of two separate Aramid laminates joined together for greater strength. The symmetrical design of our Slim armor gives it a bidirectional capability, meaning it's perfect for use in a backpack, where you might use it on your back, or in front of you as a shield (slim armor panels will still have a "strike face" label, though it will be equally effective from either side, making it perfect for use in armored backpacks or bags). Multiple soft armor types are available to choose from, each of which uses a different soft armor material with different weights and protection levels. However, there are similarities across each option: Every panel is either rated at Level II and Level IIIA (two handgun threat levels from the NIJ recommendations). Every soft armor panel is cut, sewn, and assembled in-house. And, like ceramic and polyethylene hard armor, these panels all have a 5-year shelf life.

This set of two soft inserts provides protection to Level IIIA NIJ standards.
These inserts measure at 11" X 13" and 16" x 14" providing far more coverage than the standard 10x12 plates.
Custom made by our craftsmen, our armor inserts fit perfectly in the liner section of the carrier vests leaving the regular armor plate pockets available for the insertion of Level III or IV standard 10x12 plates.
They may be used as stand-alone level IIIA protection or behind your hard plates, adding extra protection from spalling and trauma.
With a weight of approximately 2.5 pounds, they are significantly lighter than steel plates and can be comfortably worn for long periods of time.

These inserts provide protection to Level IIIA NIJ standards.
These inserts provide full coverage for front , rear and sides providing far more coverage than the standard 10x12 plates.
They are custom made by our craftsmen to fit perfectly in the liner section of the carrier vests leaving the regular armor plate pockets available for the insertion of Level III or IV standard 10x12 plates.
They may be used as stand alone level IIIA protection or behind your hard plates adding extra protection from spalling and trauma.
With a weight of 4 pounds 3 ounces, They can be worn for long periods of time without exhaustion unlike the heavy hard plates.

Virtually indiscernible when worn beneath loose clothing, these ultra-minimalist carriers are designed to fit with Spartan Armor Systems® Flex Fused Core Soft Armor Panels. Covert, comfortable, and concealed - the Spartan DL Plate Carrier is made for environments that demand maintaining a low profile. The Spartan DL Concealment carrier can also be worn overt (on the outside of clothing) and can accept hard armor such as Spartan™ Omega™ AR500, AR550, or Armis IIIA Hard Armor.
Rugged, Reliable, Versatile
The Low-profile design of the Spartan Armor Systems® DL Plate Carrier features bottom-loading plate insertion capability and a 4” fully adjustable cummerbund. This carrier comes in two sizes and can accommodate 10"x12" or 11"x14" body armor plates. The 500 Denier/Nylon blended material makes for an extremely durable, comfortable carrier that will flex and bend, contouring to your torso as you move throughout your day and activities. The inclusion of built-in soft Mag Pouches provides a tactical advantage. The Spartan DL Plate Carrier can accept AR Mags as well as a Pistol Mag (2 on each side) for versatility and quick access to your reloads.

We’ve partnered with DuPont to develop the next generation of a stronger, lighter soft armor system. We chose to work with Dupont Kevlar® fibers in our CaliberX™ Soft Armor because DuPont constantly upgrades and improves Kevlar®. We have fully maximized the material’s potential and made it more comfortable and lighter for the wearer. Our CaliberX™ ballistic vests offer better flexibility and comfort, greatly improving response time in a critical moment which could mean the difference between life and death.
CaliberX™ Soft Armor has 10% less weight and has 15% less back face deformation than other commercially available soft armor systems. CaliberX™ achieves protection against high performance hand guns such as the .44 Magnum, .357 Sig, and the .9 mm using less material. CaliberX™ Soft Armor fibers absorb the energy of the bullet along the molecules of each fiber, catching it in a multi-layer web of unidirectional fabric. The fibers absorb and disperse the energy of the impact to underlying fibers in the insert that help reduce the amount of transferred energy that causes the back-face deformation which can cause blunt trauma. The final inner layers of material are able to disperse the energy and helps diminish any trauma.

In June of 2020 we introduced new removable inserts for our soft armor that are lower in weight. Now we offer our standard weight as light and the new lighter and lightest options. All are Certified Level IIIA by the National Institute of Justice with similar performance. The Lighter and Lightest provide special threat protection. In the world of body armor the more you spend the less in weight it gets. Our Lightest option is the best by far!
